Steelers WR Limas Sweed Acknowledges Personal Issues

Since being chosen with the 53rd overall pick of the 2008 NFL Draft, Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Limas Sweed has just 7 receptions for 69 yards. The 6-4, 220-pound receiver from the University of Texas finished last season on the "Non-Football Injury" list, and in a statement released this morning by the organization, alluded to "personal issues" that he dealt with at the end of last season.

"I am excited to be back on the field and back in the locker room with my teammates. I appreciate all the support I received from the Steelers organization while I dealt with some personal issues at the end of the 2009 season. I have been working diligently and I am focused on the remainder of the off-season in getting myself prepared to have a great 2010 season."

Sweed was on the practice field this morning, as the Steelers held their first "Organized Team Activity" session of the off-season.
