Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Lawrence Timmons had a career-high 7 quarterback sacks in his first full-season as a starter, but Mark Kaboly of the McKeesport Daily News reports that Timmons wants 17 or 18 sacks this season.

"I definitely want to be the guy who can get the sacks," Timmons said. "I always loved the sacks. I had seven last year, but I feel that I could've had way more."

Timmons' teammates believe that he's poised for a breakout season, but 17 or 18 sacks may be a bit unrealistic for the inside linebacker.

A more attainable goal would be 12.5 sacks, which would trigger a $200,000 bonus in Timmons' contract. Timmons would need 28 sacks this season to receive an additional $233,500 bonus for accumulating 40 sacks by the end of the 2010 season.
