Seahawks Sign OL Paul Fanaika

The Seattle Seahawks have signed offensive lineman Paul Fanaika off the Cleveland Browns practice squad, Fanaika's agent, Marc Lillibridge, announced on Twitter.

A seventh-round pick (213th overall) out of Arizona State by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2009, the 6-5, 327-pound split his rookie season between the Eagles' practice squad and the Washington Redskins' 53-man roster. Waived by the Redskins in June, Fanaika was claimed by the Cleveland Browns. Fanaika has been on the Browns' practice squad since Week 1.

Seattle will open a roster spot by placing wide receiver Deon Butler (leg) on injured reserve, but the Fanaika signing will likely involve more roster shuffling from one of the NFL's more active front offices in 2010.
