Seahawks Sign C/G Chris White

Danny O'Neil of The Seattle Times reports the Seattle Seahawks have signed free agent center/guard Chris White.

White (6-2, 293) entered the NFL with the Green Bay Packers as an undrafted free agent out of Southern Mississippi. Mostly inactive during his first season and a half, White was waived midway through his second season in the NFL and was signed to the Texans' practice squad.

In 2007, White appeared in six games before a knee injury landed him on injured reserve, and in 2008, he saw action in eight games. Signed to a one-year contract at the veteran minimum last off-season, White started eight of the 12 games he was active, often going to great lengths to not lose any playing time.

The Texans placed an "Original Round" restricted free agent tender on White this off-season, but released him as part of their final roster cuts.

Seattle has also signed defensive end Jay Richardson.
