Seahawks Reach One-Year Deal With Lawyer Milloy

The Seattle Seahawks have reached agreement on a one-year deal with veteran safety Lawyer Milloy, Jason LaCanfora of the NFL Network reports.

Milloy, 36, went to high school in Tacoma, Washington, and played his college ball at the University of Washington.

A second-round pick (36th overall) by the New England Patriots in 1996, Milloy went two of his four Pro Bowls in his career while playing for new Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll. Milloy spent the first seven years of his 14 seasons in the NFL in New England, captaining a a Patriots defense that led the way to the first Super Bowl in franchise history, before spending three seasons with both the Buffalo Bills (2003-05) and Atlanta Falcons (2006-08).

The Seahawks signed Milloy to a one-year deal last September. In 16 games, Milloy totaled 34 tackles and a pair of pass break-ups.

Milloy adds veteran depth at safety to a Seahawks roster that is projected to start first-round pick Earl Thomas and Jordan Babineaux this season.
