The Seattle Seahawks have agreed to terms with first-round safety Earl Thomas.

According to Jason La Canfora, Thomas' deal is worth $21.1 million dollars, with $12.32 million guaranteed.

A two-year starter after red-shirting as a freshman, Thomas totaled 154 tackles, including 7.5 for a loss, in his 27 games at the University of Texas.

A ball-hawk in the secondary, Thomas defended 31 passes over the last two seasons, including 10 interceptions, which the shifty Thomas returned for 149 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Thomas’ eight interceptions in 2009 were a Longhorns’ single-season record.

Thomas was a two-time All-Big 12 selection, including first-team honors during a 2009 campaign where he also earned first-team All-American honors and was a Jim Thorpe Award finalist.

Thomas declared for the 2010 NFL Draft in January, and the 5-10, 202-pound safety/cornerback displayed the speed (4.43-40), which when combined with his incredible instincts for the position, made him such a highly-touted prospect.

Thomas will start immediately at free safety, where his play-making ability will help improve a pass defense that gave up an inordinate amount of big plays in 2009. After missing the first two practices of training camp, Thomas is expected to be on the field on Sunday.

Fellow first-round pick Russell Okung remains unsigned.
