Saints RB Chris Ivory Facing Felony Charge in Washington state
By admin
New Orleans Saints rookie running back Chris Ivory is facing felony assault charges in Whatcom County in Washington state, WWL-TV reports.
Ivory is accused of intentionally assaulting another student in the head with a bottle during a house party in July 2009. At the time, Ivory was a student-athlete at Washington State University. The school dismissed Ivory the following month, and the 6-0, 220-pound running back finished his college career at Tiffin University.
If convicted, Ivory faces 3-to-9 months in jail, the report says.
After leading the Saints in rushing during the pre-season, Ivory earned a spot on the Saints' 53-man roster. Inactive the first two weeks, injuries have pressed the rookie into action, and his 119 rushing yards rank second on the team.
