Saints OT Jonathan Stinchcomb Undergoes Sports Hernia Surgery

New Orleans Saints right tackle Jonathan Stinchcomb is undergoing sports hernia surgery in Philadelphia today, Mike Triplett of the Times-Picayune reports.

The Saints have not confirmed the procedure, which came to light after Stinchcomb was unable to host the AllFax Specialties Classic charity golf tournament at Beau Chene Country Club. Teammates and the event organizers disclosed the reason for Stinchcomb's absence.

According to Triplett, Stinchcomb sustained the hernia while working out during the off-season, and typical recovery time from this procedure could have the 6-5, 315-pounder back before the end of the team's "Organized Team Activity" sessions.
