Redskins Sign DT Howard Green

The Washington Redskins have signed free agent defensive tackle Howard Green to a one-year deal, reports Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post.

Complete financial terms were not disclosed, but Wilson reports the deal includes playing-time incentives.

Green, 31, was a sixth-round pick (190th overall) out of LSU by the Houston Texans in 2002. In 49 career games for the Texans, New Orleans Saints, Seattle Seahawks, and most recently, the New York Jets, Green has 78 tackles and a quarterback sack.

With the Jets, Green was a back-up nose tackle, and with the Redskins shifting to a 3-4 defense, the 6-2, 325-pounder figures to add depth at the position.

Green has also had brief stints with the Baltimore Ravens, Miami Dolphins, and Minnesota Vikings.
