Redskins S Reed Doughty Signs RFA Tender

Washington Redskins restricted free agent safety Reed Doughty has signed his one-year tender, the team announced on Wednesday.

A sixth-round pick out of Northern Colorado in 2006, Doughty has started 16 games over the last three seasons, totaling 176 tackles, 1 interception and 2.5 quarterback sacks. Doughty was tendered at the "Second Round" level, and would earn a $1.759 million dollar base salary in 2010.

Doughty's signing leaves linebacker Rocky McIntosh and cornerback Carlos Rogers as the Redskins' remaining unsigned restricted free agents. Had Doughty not signed his tender by June 15, the Redskins would have had the option of reducing his base salary by more than $1.7 million dollars for 2010.
