Redskins OT Stephon Heyer Signs RFA Tender

Washington Redskins restricted free agent offensive tackle Stephon Heyer has signed his one-year tender, Dave Elfin reports.
Signed in 2007 as an undrafted free agent out of Maryland, Heyer was tendered at the "Second Round" level, which carries a $1.684 million dollar base salary for 2010.
Heyer has started 28 of his 37 games for the Redskins, including all 16 last season at right tackle. With the retirement of Chris Samuels this off-season, Heyer is presently penciled in as the left tackle, though the Redskins are likely to use the fourth overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft on a personal protector for the newly acquired Donovan McNabb.
Heyer is the sixth of the Redskins' ten restricted free agents to sign his one-year tender.
