Redskins CB Carlos Rogers to Sign RFA Tender

Washington Redskins restricted free agent cornerback Carlos Rogers will sign his one-year tender on Thursday, Rich Campbell of the Free Lance-Star reports.

The ninth overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft out of Auburn, Rogers (6-0, 198) has started 56 games for the Redskins over the previous five seasons, totaling 245 tackles, 6 interceptions and 61 pass breakups.

His 24 passes defensed during the 2008 season was tied for the league lead.

Rogers was tendered at the "Original Round" level, which due to his $1.402 million dollar base salary in 2009, makes his tender worth $1.542 million dollars in non-guaranteed base salary in 2010.

When Rogers signs the tender, the Redskins will need to make a corresponding roster move.
