Ravens Activate Reed, Ayanbadejo Off PUP

The Baltimore Ravens announced the activation of safety Ed Reed and linebacker Brandon Ayanbadejo off the physically unable to perform list.

To make room on the 53-man roster, offensive tackle Jared Gaither was placed on injured reserve and linebacker Edgar Jones was released.

Ayanbadejo is coming back from a torn quadriceps, an injury he suffered last October against the New England Patriots. The 34-year old veteran from UCLA had worked his way into the Ravens' starting lineup after going to three straight Pro Bowls for his special teams prowess.

During his seven-year career with the Miami Dolphins (2003-04), Chicago Bears (2005-07), and Ravens (2008-09), Ayanbadejo has started 4 of 100 games, totaling 170 tackles, 2 quarterback sacks and 2 interceptions with 4 forced fumbles.

Jones, a converted tight end, has 19 tackles and 1.5 quarterback sacks in 32 games with the Ravens over the last 3+ seasons.
