Rams Trade for WR Isaac Bruce, Scheduled Retirement Press Conference

The St. Louis Rams have acquired wide receiver Isaac Bruce from the San Francisco 49ers, and announced a press conference for June 9 where Bruce will announce his retirement from the National Football League.

Bruce, 37, spent 14 of his 16-year NFL career with the Rams, who selected him in the second-round of the 1994 NFL Draft when the franchise was based in Los Angeles.

The 5-time Pro Bowler holds every major receiving mark in franchise history, including receptions (942), receiving yards (14,109) and touchdowns (84). Bruce also ranks 5th in NFL history in receptions (1,024), second in NFL history in receiving yards (15,208), and ninth in receiving touchdowns with 91.

Bruce has spent the last two seasons with the 49ers, where he caught his 1,000th career pass last December against the Rams in the Edward Jones Dome.
