Ogunleye Works Out for the Patriots

Free agent defensive end Adewale Ogunleye worked out for the New England Patriots today, Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk.com reports.

A former undrafted free agent from Indiana University, Ogunleye has registered 67 quarterback sacks during his nine-year career with the Miami Dolphins and Chicago Bears.

Ogunleye's top season came when he led the AFC in sacks with 15, earning his only trip to the Pro Bowl. Dissatisfied with his contract, Ogunleye held out of the following summer's training camp, and the Bears acquired him in exchange for wide receiver Marty Booker.

A broken leg last December ended Ogunleye's six-year stint with the Bears.

The 6-4, 260-pound Ogunleye has spent his career with one-hand on the ground, but could be an option as a pass-rushing linebacker should Derrick Burgess decide to retire.
