The Detroit Lions have shuffled their practice squad, releasing safety Jonathan Hefney to sign center Cody Wallace.

Wallace (6-4, 300) was a fourth-round pick (107th overall) out of Texas A&M by the San Francisco 49ers in 2008. Wallace has been active for one game over the last two seasons, the 49ers' 20-6 win over the Lions last December.

Wallace was waived by the 49ers on September 3.
