Lions Claim OT Tyler Polumbus Off Waivers

Offensive tackle Tyler Polumbus, waived by the Denver Broncos on Tuesday, has been claimed by the Detroit Lions, Lindsay Jones of the Denver Post reports.

Polumbus has started 8 of his 31 games for Broncos, manning the right tackle position last season while Ryan Harris was sidelined with a foot injury.

The Lions have been waiver-wire warriors throughout the last few seasons, taking advantage of their status at the top of the priority list to stake claims on young, available talent. Polumbus is the second offensive tackle prospect the Lions claimed off waivers this week. Cliff Louis was claimed off waivers from the New York Giants on Tuesday.

Detroit will need to make a corresponding roster move to fit Polumbus on the 80-man roster.
