Jaguars Sign QB Keith Null

The Jacksonville Jaguars have signed free agent quarterback Keith Null, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Veteran cornerback Michael Coe has been waived to make room for Null on the 53-man roster.

Null, a sixth-round pick out of West Texas A&M by the St. Louis Rams in 2009, started four games last season, completing 61.3% of his 119 pass attempts for 566 yards and three touchdowns. Null was also sacked 13 times and threw 9 interceptions, resulting in a 49.9 passer rating.

The signing of Null is in no way a threat to embattled starter David Garrard, who is off to terrible start to the 2010 season. Through three games, Garrard is 44-of-74 for 448 yards, with four touchdowns and 5 interceptions for a passer rating of 64.4.

Last week, the Jaguars placed back-up quarterback Luke McCown on injured reserve with a torn ACL and signed 38-year old Todd Bouman to back Garrard up. The Jaguars have also waived quarterback Brett Ratliff from the practice squad.

In addition to the Null signing, the Jaguars have also re-signed safety Gerald Alexander and released tight end Ernest Wilford.
