Jaguars G Uche Nwaneri Agrees to 5-Year Extension

Jacksonville Jaguars guard Uche Nwaneri has agreed to terms on a five-year contract extension, reports Adam Caplan of FOXSports.com.

According to Caplan, the deal is worth nearly $24 million, and includes between $8-9 million in guarantees.

Nwaneri (6-3, 329) was a fifth-round pick (149th overall) out of Purdue by the Jaguars in 2007. Nwaneri started the 2007 regular season finale, and has started 28 of the last 32 games for the Jaguars, starting at both left and right guard spots.

Nwaneri is expected to start at right guard in 2010.

After triggering playing-time incentives early in his career, Nwaneri was scheduled to earn $1.101 million in base salary this season, the final year of his rookie contract.
