Giants Sign S John Busing

The New York Giants have signed free agent safety John Busing, David Canter, Busing's agent, announced on Twitter.

Signed as an undrafted free agent out of Miami (Ohio) by the Cincinnati Bengals, the 6-2, 218-pound Busing spent the first three seasons of his NFL career with the Bengals. Busing totaled 25 tackles in 27 games, 19 of which came as a core member of the Bengals' kick and punt coverage units.

Last season, Busing started four of 16 games with the Houston Texans, setting career-highs with 32 tackles and snagging the first interception of his NFL career.

Busing adds quality depth to the back-end of the Giants' secondary, which will be without third-round pick Chad Jones (IR) for the season, and without Kenny Phillips (knee) for the start of training camp.
