Giants Agree to Terms With 2nd Round DT Linval Joseph

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the New York Giants have agreed to terms with second-round defensive tackle Linval Joseph.

Financial terms on the four-year deal were not disclosed.

A two-year starter at East Carolina, Joseph totaled 143 tackles, including 29.5 for a loss and 6.5 quarterback sacks. Joseph added three forced fumbles/fumble recoveries, and blocked three kicks during his career.

Joseph earned first-team All-Conference USA honors after the 2009 season, and opted to forgo his final season of eligibility.

Solid enough to hold up against double-teams, and agile enough to be a penetrating “3” technique tackle, the 6-5, 328-pound Joseph provides the Giants with a versatile interior defensive lineman. Joseph is projected to be part of the tackle rotation as a rookie, and to contend for a starting role in 2011.
