Falcons Sign 3rd Round DT Corey Peters

The Atlanta Falcons announced the signing of third-round defensive tackle Corey Peters, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports that Peters' four-year deal includes a $767,000 signing bonus, and has a maximum value of $3.295 million dollars.

A four-year starter at the University of Kentucky, Peters was the 83rd overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft after setting career-highs in 2009 with 49 tackles, including 11 for a loss and four quarterback sacks, earning first-team All-SEC honors.

During his career with the Wildcats, the 6-3, 300-pound Peters totaled 146 tackles and 11.5 quarterback sacks. Peters uses his speed and athleticism to disrupt plays in the backfield, and is expected to be part of the Falcons' defensive tackle rotation in 2010.
