Eagles Have List of Defensive Coordinator Candidates

One week after relieving Sean McDermott of the defensive coordinator duties, the Philadelphia Eagles have a list of candidates to replace him, Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

New Orleans Saints secondary coach Dennis Allen interviewed with the Eagles this weekend, but McLane adds that the Eagles won't offer Allen the spot , and appear to be waiting to interview a candidate from one of the four remaining teams in the NFL Playoffs.

Green Bay Packers position coaches Mike Trgovac (defensive line) and Winston Moss (linebackers) are possibilities, with Trgovac believed to be on the Denver Broncos' short-list of candidates. The Broncos interviewed Allen late last week.

Two other candidates--Jim L. Mora and Eagles secondary coach Dick Jauron--are no longer in the picture, with Mora removing his from consideration, while Jauron became the defensive coordinator with the Cleveland Browns.

McDermott has already landed on his feet, and is now the Carolina Panthers' defensive coordinator.
