Dolphins Sign T Matt Kopa Off 49ers Practice Squad

The Miami Dolphins announced that they have signed rookie offensive tackle Matt Kopa off the San Francisco 49ers' practice squad.

By rule, Kopa is guaranteed three game-checks from the Dolphins. Offensive tackle Patrick Brown has been waived to add Kopa to the 53-man roster.

An undrafted free agent from Stanford, the 6-6, 303-pound Kopa started his college career on defense, totaled three tackles and a pass defensed as a freshman before moving to the offensive side of the ball as a sophomore. Kopa played tight end, right guard, and started six games at right tackle.

A broken left foot ended his senior season after one game in 2009.
