Dolphins Sign S Jon Amaya Off Practice Squad

The Miami Dolphins announced that they have signed rookie safety Jon Amaya off their practice squad.

Fullback Deon Anderson has been placed on injured reserve.

Amaya (6-1, 190) went undrafted out of Nevada. Signed by the Dolphins in May, Amaya had five tackles and an interception during the pre-season before being waied and re-signed to the practice squad in Week 1.

Anderson was signed by the Dolphins in Week 7, was inactive for Sunday's loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers, and a triceps injury had him listed as doubtful for tomorrow's game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

The 5-10, 240-pound fullback has three rushing yards, 9 receptions for 67 yards, and 21 special teams tackles in 39 games over the last three seasons, all with the Cowboys, who chose him in the sixth-round (195th overall) out of Connecticut in 2007.

Anderson injured his knee during the 2010 regular season-opener against the Washington Redskins, and was released with an injury settlement on September 24.
