Dolphins Sign CB Al Harris

Free agent cornerback Al Harris has signed a one-year deal with the Miami Dolphins, Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports. (Harris' agent, Jack Bechta, is one of the insiders at the National Football Post)

Financial terms were not disclosed.

Harris was released by the Green Bay Packers on Monday after spending the first nine weeks of the 2010 regular season on the physically unable to perform list. Harris had major reconstructive knee surgery last December.

A sixth-round pick out of Texas A&M-Kingsville by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1997, Harris has 21 career interceptions and 4 quarterback sacks during a 12-year career with the Philadelphia Eagles (1998-2002) and Packers (2003-09), where he earned two trips to the Pro Bowl following the 2007 and 2008 seasons.

Wilson adds that the Dolphins added linebacker Erik Bakhtiari to the practice squad, releasing linebacker Chris McCoy.
