Cowboys Sign TE DajLeon Farr

After losing tight end John Phillips for the season, the Dallas Cowboys have signed tight end DajLeon Farr, Calvin Watkins of ESPNDallas.com reports.

To make room for Farr, the Cowboys have "waived/injured" tight end Kevin Brock.

Farr (6-5, 256) played for the University of Miami for three seasons before transferring to Memphis in 2008. During his 41-game career, Farr caught 24 passes for 210 yards and 4 touchdowns, and signed with the San Diego Chargers as an undrafted free agent in April.

The Cowboys are not going to make a roster move with Phillips until they can safely place him on injured reserve. To do so now would require exposing him to the waivers process, and the Cowboys fear he'd be claimed by another team.
