Continuance Request Expected in Leroy Hill Trial

Danny O'Neil of the Seattle Times reports that a continuance is expected to be requested before Seattle Seahawks linebacker Leroy Hill's trial on misdemeanor assault/domestic violence charges gets underway Thursday in Issaquah (WA) Municipal Court.

Who is making that request is unknown, but Prosecutor Lynn Moberly expressed concerns last week when repeated attempts to contact the victim in the case, identified as Hill's live-in girlfriend, were not returned.

Issaquah police have also observed the victim's car in Hill's driveway, despite the presence of a "no-contact" order, which was issued upon Hill's arrest in April, and continued after a court appearance in May.

10:46pm ET Update: O'Neil has updated his blog to reflect that the material witness has turned herself in, and that the defense will be requesting the continuance.
