Colts Statement on Allegations Against Eric Foster

As reported by Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times, Indianapolis Colts defensive tackle Eric Foster is being sued for sexual assault. The third-year player from Rutgers will not face criminal charges in association with those allegations, and the Colts have issued the following statement on the matter.

"We are aware that a civil action seeking monetary damages has been filed against Eric Foster. The alleged incident was investigated by law enforcement officials at the time the allegation was made. The appropriate authorities decided that there was no basis for charges to be filed. Based upon those facts, we have no reason to take any action, or to make any further comment on this matter. Eric Foster is a member of our squad and will participate in our off-season program."

Foster is entering the final year of a three-year contract valued at $1.16 million dollars. Foster has earned the minimum base salaries in each year of the deal, and ~$290,000 in performance-based pay the last two seasons.
