Colts Sign 5th Round TE Brody Eldridge

ccording to a league source, the Indianapolis Colts have signed fifth-round tight end Brody Eldridge.

Eldridge's four-year deal is worth $1.952 million dollars, and included a signing bonus just under $163,000.

The 6-5, 261-pound Eldridge caught 13 passes for 98 yards and a touchdown during his four-year career at the University of Oklahoma, but his blocking ability is what made him a fifth-round pick by the Colts.

In addition to playing fullback and tight end, Eldridge made several starts at center and guard for the Sooners last season. Eldridge has the potential to bulk up for a move to an interior offensive line position, but it appears as though the Colts plan to use him as a spare tight end.

Eldridge is the third member of the Colts' 2010 NFL Draft class to sign a contract.
