Colts DT Eric Foster Sued for Sexual Assault

Indianapolis Colts third-year defensive tackle Eric Foster is being sued by an Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis student for sexual assault, battery, false imprisonment, and intentional infliction of emotional distress, Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

The alleged incident occurred on the morning of the 2009 AFC Championship Game at the University Place Hotel, where the student, 22-year old Lauren Glisson, works and where the Colts stay prior to home games.

According to the report, Glisson was asked by a hotel manager to deliver a dental kit to Foster's room. She knocked on the door and was let into the room, when Foster "slammed the door, and then proceeded to forcibly engage in deviant sexual acts".

Glisson reported the incident to hotel security, but the report was deleted from the computer system. Glisson contacted Indianapolis police, who referred her to IUPUI police. Her bruises were documented, and her offer to submit her uniform for evidence was declined by IUPUI police, the report states.

Days later, a detective for the IUPUI police subjected Glisson to a lie-detector test.

"They didn’t take the uniform. They don’t talk to Eric Foster. They don’t look at surveillance film. They don’t cordon off the room and look for evidence, either," Glisson's attorney April Board said. "These cases are hard enough to prosecute when you do everything right.

"Even the tiniest little town in the middle of nowhere knows the basics of when a sexual assault is reported."

Marion County Prosecutor Carl Brizzi decided in early February to not press criminal charges against Foster.

A 6-2, 265-pound defensive lineman from Rutgers, Foster was not selected in the 2008 NFL Draft and signed a three-year deal with the Colts. In 29 games, including 16 starts, Foster has 72 tackles and 2.5 quarterback sacks.
