Colts Claim QB Tom Brandstater

The Indianapolis Colts have claimed quarterback Tom Brandstater off waivers from the Denver Broncos, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
A sixth-round pick in 2009, Brandstater was the Broncos' third quarterback throughout his rookie season. The 6-5, 223-pound passer from Fresno State was 26-of-46 for 298 yards with a pair of interceptions and 4 rushing yards in three games' worth of action during the 2009 pre-season.
The Broncos waived Brandstater last Friday.
Brandstater will compete with fellow 2009 sixth-round pick Curtis Painter, second-year quarterback Drew Willy, and 2010 undrafted free agent Tim Hiller for one or two spots backing up Peyton Manning.
Claiming Brandstater puts the Colts at the 80-man off-season roster limit.
