Colts Claim K Garrett Lindholm Off Waivers

As first reported by Adam Caplan of Scout.com, the Indianapolis Colts were awarded rookie kicker Garrett Lindholm off waivers from the Atlanta Falcons.

Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post adds that the Colts released linebacker Brandon Renkart to accommodate Lindholm on the active roster.

Lindholm (5-8, 185) was 32-of-44 on field goal attempts, and 94-of-99 on extra point attempts, during his four years at Tarleton State. Lindholm kicked a 64-yard field goal to force overtime against Texas A&M-Kingsville in the playoffs, and added 87 touchbacks during his career.

Lindholm earned first-team All-Lone Star Conference honors after his junior and senior seasons, and is the third kicker on the Colts' roster, behind Adam Vinatieri and fellow undrafted free agent Brent Swenson (Michigan State).
