Colts Agree to Terms With 7th Round LB Kavell Conner

The Indianapolis Colts have finalized a deal with seventh-round linebacker Kavell Conner.

The Indianapolis Colts have finalized a deal with seventh-round linebacker Kavell Conner, Aaron Wilson of the National Football Post reports.

Financial terms of the four-year deal were not disclosed, but on the NFL's slotted signing bonus system, Conner's pact is likely worth nearly $1.835 million dollars, with a signing bonus of roughly $45,000 and minimum base salaries.

A two-year starter at weak-side linebacker for Clemson, Conner (6-1, 242) totaled 263 tackles during his 53-game career, including 14 tackles for a loss and four quarterback sacks. Conner also had six pass break-ups and an interception.

Conner is a physical player, who Colts president Bill Polian has compared to Clint Session, the team’s current starting weak-side linebacker. If he makes the 53-man roster, Conner will be counted on as a core member of the special teams units, who could eventually develop into a versatile backup with a shot to earn a starting job at some point during the next four years.
