Chiefs Trade DE Alex Magee to Buccaneers

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Kansas City Chiefs have traded defensive end Alex Magee to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for a conditional draft choice.

The Buccaneers will also receive an undisclosed 2011 draft choice from the Chiefs.

A third-round pick out of Purdue in 2009, Magee (6-3, 298) had eight tackles, including two quarterback sacks in 15 games as a rookie. This season, Magee has been inactive in three of the Chiefs' five games, totaling a pair of tackles in a Week 5 loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

Magee was behind Tyson Jackson, Shaun Smith, Glenn Dorsey, and Wallace Gilberry on the team's depth chart. In Tampa Bay, Magee figures to move inside to defensive tackle, the position he played in college.

The 67th overall pick in last year's draft, Magee signed a four-year, $2.645 million contract last July. Magee is signed through 2012 at minimum base salaries.
