Charges Dropped Against Kevin Ellison

Drug possession charges against free agent safety Kevin Ellison were dropped recently, Kevin Acee of the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Ellison was arrested last May in Redondo Beach, California after 100 Vicodin tablets were discovered in his car when he was stopped for speeding.

A 2009 sixth-round pick (189th overall) out of USC by the San Diego Chargers, Ellison started at strong safety in 9 of 13 regular season games, totaling 52 tackles, including three for a loss, a quarterback sack and three passes defensed during his rookie season.

The Chargers waived Ellison in June. Claimed by the Seattle Seahawks, Ellison had 7 tackles in the pre-season before he was waived on September 5.
