Chargers Sign WR Josh Reed

The San Diego Chargers announced that they had agreed to terms on a one-year deal with veteran free agent wide receiver Josh Reed.

"We are excited to have Josh join us," said Chargers general manager A.J. Smith. "He was a consistent performer in Buffalo for many years. With his experience, he will be a solid compliment to our receiving corps."

A second-round pick (36th overall) out of LSU by the Buffalo Bills in 2002 NFL Draft, Reed started 52 of his 115 games during eight seasons with the Bills, catching 311 passes for 3,575 yards and 10 touchdowns.

The 5-10, 210-pound Reed is insurance against a prolonged holdout by restricted free agent wide receiver Vincent Jackson.
