Buccaneers Claim S Matt O'Hanlon

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have claimed rookie safety Matt O'Hanlon off waivers, Stephen Holder of the St. Petersburg Times reports.

O'Hanlon was waived by the Carolina Panthers on June 17.

A 5-11, 207-pound undrafted free agent from the University of Nebraska, O'Hanlon totaled 69 tackles and a team-high six interceptions as a senior. A former walk-on who earned a scholarship in 2008, O'Hanlon was a two-year starter for the Cornhuskers, finishing his college career with 132 tackles and 7 interceptions, and was named Defensive MVP of the Holiday Bowl in his final college game.
