Browns QB Brett Ratliff Off Patriots' Practice Squad

With their top two quarterbacks hobbled by ankle injuries, the Cleveland Browns have signed quarterback Brett Ratliff off the New England Patriots' practice squad, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.

A 6-4, 235-pound former undrafted free agent from the University of Utah, Ratliff has not appeared in an NFL game during his career, which began with the New York Jets in 2007. Ratliff spent 2008 on the Jets' 53-man roster before he was traded to the Browns in April.

Ratliff completed 18-of-34 passes for 154 yards and a pair of interceptions in three pre-season games for the Browns this summer, but was waived as part of their final roster cuts. Ratliff spent the first month of the regular season on the Jacksonville Jaguars practice squad. Released by the Jaguars, Ratliff joined New England's practice squad last week.

Delhomme and Wallace are not expected to be available next Sunday, with 2010 third-round pick Colt McCoy expected to make his first NFL start against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
