Browns Cut Roster to 75

To reach the NFL's 75-man roster limit, the Cleveland Browns waived defensive backs John Bowie and Gerard Lawson, wide receiver Taurus Johnson, and offensive lineman John Malecki, reports Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain-Dealer.

Defensive lineman Titus Adams was placed on injured reserve.

Bowie was waived on Monday night, and none of the releases announced today are much of a surprise. Lawson had one tackle on special teams tackle in one pre-season game, Johnson (6-1, 205) caught one pass for 16 yards in one game, and Malecki saw action as a reserve in two games this month.

Johnson, who caught 112 passes for 1,434 yards and 12 touchdown during his career at South Florida, signed with the Browns earlier this month after being waived by the Miami Dolphins.
