Browns CB Eric Wright IR-Bound

Cleveland Browns cornerback Eric Wright will be placed on injured reserve, head coach Eric Mangini announced during his Monday press conference.

A second-round pick (53rd overall) out of UNLV in 2007, Wright has started 55 of his 59 career games totaling 249 tackles, 1 quarterback, and nine interceptions, returning one 94 yards for a touchdown.

Wright had started 45 consecutive games, and 55 of 56 games, before poor performance, perhaps exacerbated by a left knee injury, cost him his starting job, with 2010 first-round pick Joe Haden replacing Wright last month.

Wright will be a free agent this off-season.
