Broncos Sign 7th Round CB Syd'Quan Thompson

The Denver Broncos announced that they have signed seventh-round cornerback Syd'Quan Thompson to an undisclosed contract.
Thompson is the first of the Broncos' nine draft choices to sign a contract.
A first-team All-Pac-10 selection out of the University of California, Thompson (5-9, 182) started 52 games for the Golden Bears, totaling 257 tackles, 7 interceptions, and a school-record 36 passes defensed. Thompson also returned punts during his final two seasons at Cal, averaging 10.8 yards per return, returning one 73 yards for a touchdown against Colorado State during the 2008 season.
Despite having a reputation as a tough, physical, ball-hawkin' cornerback, Thompson's questionable speed and lack of size hurt his draft stock last month.
