Broncos LB Elvis Dumervil Signs RFA Tender

Lindsay Jones of the Denver Post reports Denver Broncos restricted free agent linebacker Elvis Dumervil has signed his one-year tender.

Dumervil was tendered at the "First- and Third-Round" level, which carries a $3.168 million dollar base salary in 2010. Had Dumervil not signed the tender, the Broncos could have reduced its amount to $588,500, a reduction of $2.5795 million dollars.

Dumervil earned Pro Bowl honors for the first time after the 2009 season, posting 49 tackles and an NFL-high 17 quarterback sacks.

In 61 career games since being chosen with the 126th overall pick of the 2006 NFL Draft out of Louisville, Dumervil has 129 tackles, 43 sacks, 10 forced fumbles, and an interception. Dumervil has also been credited with 61 hits on opposing quarterbacks.

Dumervil and the Broncos will continue to negotiate towards a long-term deal.
