Brandon Marshall's Surgery Was on Other Hip

According to Jeff Darlington of the Miami Herald, the surgery that Miami Dolphins wide receiver Brandon Marshall underwent this off-season, which was described as a "routine procedure" to "clean things up" by head coach Tony Sparano, was actually a procedure on Marshall's other hip.

"The Marshall story takes a new twist. A source close to Marshall now says it WAS NOT a clean-up from last year. It was his other hip!", Darlington tweeted.

It's unlikely that the Dolphins didn't know about Marshall's other hip when they signed him to a 5-year, $50 million dollar contract last month. This is the same front office that allegedly asked Dez Bryant is his mother was a prostitute, so I doubt they'd guarantee at least $12.5 million dollars to a player without the team's medical staff signing off on it first.

That said, surgery on both hips makes one wonder if Marshall will physically be able to play at the level expected of a player earning $9 million dollars per year, which Marshall's base salaries will be from 2012-14.
