Bears S Major Wright to Miss At Least 3 Weeks

Chicago Bears third-round safety Major Wright will miss at least three weeks with a strained hamstring, reports Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times.

Wright was injured attempting to tackle Dallas Cowboys first-round wide receiver Dez Bryant during Bryant's 62-yard punt return for a touchdown in the Bears' 27-20 win on Sunday.

The team's first draft pick in 2010, Wright was expected to push for a starting job this season. Instead, Wright has missed nearly the entire pre-season with a fractured left index finger and groin injury.

Chris Harris and Danieal Manning remain the Bears' starting safeties, with Josh Bullocks and Craig Steltz providing depth.

Wright is expected to miss about a month, which would keep him out of games against the Green Bay Packers, New York Giants, and Carolina Panthers. It would appear doubtful that Wright could return for the Bears' Week 6 game against the Seattle Seahawks.

The Bears have a bye in Week 8.
