Bengals DE Antwan Odom Placed on IR

Cincinnati Bengals defensive end Antwan Odom has been placed on injured reserve, the team announced on Thursday.

Odom (6-5, 275) had four tackles in four games at the start of the season, but was suspended four games by the NFL for violating the performance-enhancing drugs policy. Upon his reinstatement, Odom was hampered by a wrist injury.

In 22 games over the last three seasons with the Bengals, Odom has 49 tackles and 11 quarterback sacks, including a team-high 8 last season, despite playing in just six games before an Achilles' injury ended his season. Odom is signed through the 2012 season, but between his injuries, suspension history, and $4.5 million base salary, his tenure with the Bengals may have come to an end today.

Defensive end Victor Adenyanju, a former fourth-round pick of the St. Louis Rams, has been re-signed to fill Odom's spot on the 53-man roster. Adenyanju had a two-week stint with the Bengals last month, but did not appear in any games.

In 53 games with the Rams, Adeyanju (6-4, 284) has 117 tackles and 3 quarterback sacks.

Didn't this guy have five of his eight quarterback sacks last season in the Week 2 game against us at Lambeau? Tough loss for the Bengals, but their season wasn't really going anywhere, so I guess not really.
