49ers Sign 6th Round RB Anthony Dixon

The San Francisco 49ers announced the signing of sixth-round (173rd overall) running back Anthony Dixon.
Financial terms of the four-year deal were not disclosed.
A three-year starter at Mississippi State, Dixon finished his career as the Bulldogs' all-time leading rusher with 3,994 yards and 42 touchdowns on the ground. Dixon added 56 receptions for 449 yards and three touchdowns.
Dixon led the SEC in rushing in 2009 with 1,391 yards, earning first-team all-conference honors. Dixon, who was arrested for suspicion of DUI last July, could carve out a role as the 49ers' short-yardage back this season.
Dixon is the third member of the 49ers' draft class to sign a contract, joining sixth-round wide receiver Kyle Williams and seventh-round cornerback Phillip Adams.
