Wayne Larrivee to Be Featured on Wisconsin-Centric Final Four Broadcast

Wayne Larrivee might best be known around these parts as the voice of the Packers Radio Network, but he also calls college basketball for the Big Ten Network and Westwood One Radio as well.

According to Richard Deitsch of Sports Illustrated, Larrivee will be the play-by-play announcer for a Wisconsin-centric national broadcast of Saturday's Final Four semifinal game between the Badgers and the Kentucky Wildcasts at approximately 7:49 p.m. CT on truTV:

While each semifinal game is airing on TBS, the networks of TNT and truTV will simultaneously air team-specific presentations (with separate production crews) tailored to each of the schools competing in the semifinals. These "Teamcasts" will feature custom music, custom graphics, team-specific replays, additional cameras geared toward one team, and a custom halftime show. Most importantly, they will feature broadcasters who have been hired specifically to appeal to that fan base. The broadcasters will be encouraged by Turner and CBS to be over-the-top homers for those schools.

Larrivee will be teamed with former Wisconsin Badgers basketball player Mike Kelly, who has also been an announcer for the Big Ten Network.

In case anyone is interested, Kentucky opened a 2 1/2 PT Favorite. At game time the Line was Kentucky -1, basically a Pick-Um game.
Hope WI can do it. Go Badgers!!
