Un. Real.

Leave it to Favre to try and ruin the first date my wife and I have had in years. A few words on the latest developments...

First of all, Tom Silverstein's post over at the JS Online Blog is required reading. In it, he gives an account of a petulant Favre over the past few months, one that was tolerated by Packer management up to the point where they were ready to bring Favre back - they even charted a plane to Mississippi to seal the deal on Favre's return.

Secondly, Al Jones, Favre's buddy at the Biloxi Sun Herald, is now the official owner of the "Worst Column Masquerading As Anything Resembling Coherent Thought Ever Award"

Lastly, (for now) I understand the Packers' reticence to release Favre outright. The thought of him playing in Purple makes me want to vomit. However, I will admit I love the idea of the Packers' playing him in the season opener and Aaron Kampman sacking his sorry old ass.

Obviously, I'll have much more to say in the coming days/weeks, when it is not 2:30 in the morning and I am beyond upset. For now, I am pissed at Favre. I am pissed at Thompson. I love the Green Bay Packers.

Go Pack Go.

Okay, so I've slept on it. And It doesn't sound any prettier this morning than it did last night.
I live in Minneapolis and you can't believe the Viking fans hear. Most of them hate the Packers/Favre and don't want Favre on the roster. They are saying they wouldn't want to win a super bowl with #4 at the helm. First of all, there's nothing that says the Vikings get that far, and secondly, last time I checked, they don't seem to have much experience at winning the big one. And the few fans that can admire Favre for his past accomplishments are being bullied into keeping quiet.
Please TT, don't release him. I'm beginning to agree with him that returning to the Packer Locker Room is the greater of two evils. Make a deal for a trade somewhere, anywhere, except Chicago or Minnesota.
