I'm going to attempt to do a mock draft while following along with the Draft tonight as well. I'll make selections as they come up, because 1) trades will be made and probably more importantly 2) I have no delusions the above mock will be entirely accurate.

"I have no delusions the above mock will be entirely accurate."

I wish you would have some backbone and stand by your work, Brian.

Hey, at least you put it out there, Brian!

Carolina makes the same mistake as the Raiders (Russell), Chargers (Leaf) and Titans (Young) by drafting a not very bright individual, with questionable maturity/love for the game at QB.

And, obviously Ayers is a perceived need over BPA for the Packers. But, you may be exactly right!

Trades are going to obliterate most mocks ..... Looks more & more like at least 5 QBs in the 1st round especially with many predicted trades .....

This is hardly a normal draft & many GMs are still scratching their heads at this late hour ...... Nice to have TT in charge in 'Titletown' ......

Von Miller is going #2 to the Broncos.

Is it stupid? Yes. Is it the only way possibly that Von Miller could not be an elite player, playing for a 4-3 team? Yes. Do the Broncos have a player similar to him in Dumervil? Yes. Do they completely suck against the run, have nothing at DT, desperately need one, and Dareus is a tremenduous prospect that would make their DL very good? All yes. Are John Fox and John Elway drunk/high, or just morons? Also yes.

But as I said, it is what's going to happen.
Good for me. I hate the Broncos. For all I care, they can suck eternally.

Also, another prediction, the Vikings will make an extremely stupid pick, like Dalton at #12.

It's gonna be a great draft. If only the Bears can't pick an OT and the Lions don't pick Peterson/Amukamara, we're set.

Woah. The only thing mistaken about these predictions is that the Lions picked Fairley - which might actually be worse. But wow, do you know who the Packers will pick in the second round? :)

Peter King claims Carolina would love to trade out of #1 but can find no takers. What would it take for TT to do the unthinkable and trade up to #1 and pick Von Miller? 2011 and 2012 #1's? Even more than that?

If he's as good as they say (and I have no opinion on the matter, just hearsay), I think that would be worth it, especially if there is a rookie salary cap, which of course no one knows. Just imagine Miller and CM3 as our bookend OLB's!

Do you really think TT would trade one of his sons?
That's how TT views draft picks:
1st round = his children
2nd round = his limbs
3rd round = his testicles
4rd round = his fingers
5th round = his teeth
6th round = his fingernails
7th round = his hair

Not saying it's even remotely close to happening, but it's not like he's never traded up in the first round to pick a game-changing OLB!

Its not even close to feasible at the 1 spot.

The standard trade value chart (which is imperfect), values the #1 at 3,000 points. #32 is valued at 590.

Assuming the Packers pick next year is close to that (and it would be discounted as a future pick), you aren't even halfway there. It is doubtful that trading our two #1s would even get us into the top ten (1,300 points).

Fun to dream about having Miller though. Seems like a great kid.

Agreed on the feasibility. And I don't think Carolina would want to trade all the way down to #32 anyway. With the lockout over (well, kinda) maybe they'll allow player trades, so we can throw in Colledge and Popinga, or maybe even Barnett. Let's throw in Harrell (either one) too.

Are you biting Carolina?

I think he very well could trade up for a player, but it'll take for that player to fall below his value. Matthews was a top 15 pick in TT's eyes, so when he fell to the early 20's, it was time.

TT could trade his first and 2nd to move to the #19, or add a 4th to move to the #16, and grab a player like Watt if he falls that far, or Tyron Smith.

But I doubt he moves to the top 10. That would take too much ammo.

Also, it's not possible to trade for players, according to Adam Shefter. http://twitter.com/#!/AdamSchefter/status/63658035830210560

Well since our recent picks at 23 Bulaga 24 Rodgers and 26 Matthews have all worked out so well maybe those are possible spots to trade up to for falling talent.
